Grinding Services
Mid Kansas Machine provides surface, rotary surface, cylindrical, and CNC seal-face grinding for one-off parts, repair work, and production runs. Our shop has six dedicated grinders: three Mattison surface grinders, one Blanchard No. 18 rotary surface grinder, one Harig 612 surface grinder, and one Cincinnati cylindrical grinder.
We grind carbon and alloy steels, tool steels, Hastelloy, and Inconel. We also use cup stones with selected CNC machines for seal-face grinding.

Machine dimensions describe available equipment capacity. Final usable part size depends on workholding, material, geometry, and finishing requirements.
CNC seal-face grinding
For seal faces, we use cup stones with CNC equipment, including the Toyoda VTC2020 and Hwacheon 850. Send the part dimensions, material, tolerance, and surface-finish requirement so we can confirm the setup.
Materials and industries
Common materials include 1018, 1045, 1117, 1141, 1144, 1215, 4140, 4142, 4340, A36, 8620, ETD 150, H13, P20, Stressproof ASTM A311 1144, ASTM A500, and tool steels such as A2, O1, S7, and D2. We also grind Hastelloy and Inconel. Industries served include agriculture, oil and gas, plastics, mining, medical, food manufacturing, and general manufacturing.
